Is a Chanel Bag really an investment?

Coco Chanel debuted her classic bag in 1955. 
She redesigned the original bag for a modern women and was released in 1955.

At the rate Chanel is increasing their prices (reportedly 12.8% in two years), the Classic Medium Flap Bag will cost approximately $5,600 in 2015. 

I know $4,900 is a lot of money to spend on a bag... but think about it like this:
 If you purchase a Chanel Classic Medium Flag Bag tomorrow for $4,900 and you wear it everyday for a year (365 days a year), you would have to cut back your budget $13.42 a day. 

So is a Chanel bag an investment?
I think we would all agree that $4,900 sounds like a steal to $5,600. 
And with Chanel it is highly possible to be able to turn a profit if you should sell it.
